What are the Litter Chest made of?
The Litter Chest is made of either furniture grade 3/4" knotty pine, maple or cherry solids and plywood. Construction of the chest is style and rail with a recessed panel giving the chest a "shaker style" look. The lid is 3/4" solid pine, maple or cherry.

Is the interior finished with anything?
Yes, the interior surfaces are prefinished with a waterproofing application. It is a tinted exterior grade waterproofing product. This product will protect the wood surface from occasional messes and will provide easy cleaning. Please note on a unfinished litter chest the interior of the lid is not prefinished. We recommend that every 12-18 months you clean with a mild cleaner and recoat with a waterproofer or polyurethane.

Do I have to assemble it? Is it easy?
Yes, it comes unassembled with good instructions. You only need a Phillips or Robertson head screwdriver. Power is fine. If using a hand held, make sure that it is a sturdy one with a good tip, or it will be more difficult to turn the screws. Call or email if you need help!

How long will it take to arrive?
From the date of order to the time the Litter Chest will arrive to you is approx. 3-4 weeks. Please note custom made units will take longer and time varies depending on how custom the unit is. Tracking number is provided upon shipment or contact us if you have any questions.

What kind of stains do you use?
We use commercial grade finishes on all of our products. Stain is applied, sealed and then two coats of clear finish is applied to protect the stain and give it a sheen. All products used are low odour to ensure that there is not an offensive odour for the cats.

How do I determine the opening side?
When looking at the chest from the front, if you would like the cat(s) to enter from the Right side choose Right. See entrance options.

What size litter pan will fit into the Litter Chest?
A standard large litter pan (18x15) on all models, the LC900 and LC1800 will also fit jumbo litter pans as well as the older model LitterMaids. Please see unit specifications for more details. Please note litter pan is not included with the Litter Chest.

Payment Options
Fat Cat Creations accepts: Visa, MasterCard and PayPal as online payments via our secure website. You can also make payment by check - please note order is processed upon receipt of the check and checks must clear prior to shipment.

For all orders your credit card is charged at the time of order processing. Please note your credit card will be charged in Canadian dollars at the current exchange rate. All PayPal payments are in US$.

Sales Tax
Fat Cat Creations is required to charge all Canadian orders 5% GST and all orders shipping within British Columbia 7% PST.

Shipping
We process all orders Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays. We ship to Continental US and Canada. We can also ship to Alaska and Hawaii, APO/FPO address but please contact us for a shipping quote. Orders are shipped via FedEx Ground. Multiple items may ship in separate packages. At this time we can only ship to street addresses, no PO Boxes. Incorrect or undeliverable addresses and refused shipments resulting in a item being "returned to shipper" will be charged for shipping fees.

Warranty
Your satisfaction is very important to use. We take great care to ensure that you receive high quality products in good condition. We fully guarantee all products against defects in materials and craftsmanship. Freight damages or product defects must be reported within 5 days of receipt of your order.

Return and Exchange Policy
We understand that there are times when a return or exchange may be necessary. Please measure your available area and choose wisely when ordering to avoid the extra return charges. Custom orders are not returnable.

Returns and exchanges of unused items are accepted within 2 weeks of receipt. Please note shipping charges are non-refundable and there may be a 15% restocking fee (exchanges are not subject to a restocking fee). Please contact us prior to returning an item for shipping instructions.
